NY Shop: Thomas Sires

During one of our shopping days, the BF and I stopped into Thomas Sires, new Elizabeth Street boutique in Nolita. It was not hard to miss the shop with it’s neon pink sign in the front window! Loves. Owners Fiona Thomas and Allison Sires opened up shop in December of last year and I’m so glad they did. I happen to know Miss Allison from way back in her Cali days and I was elated to hear that she and her business partner opened a boutique and designed their first collection together. This dynamic duo met while both working at Loeffler Randall: Sires designed and Thomas worked in PR. Their collection is fashion forward and has an effortless ease about it, which makes it perfect for the fashionable, on-the-go gal. Along with the Thomas Sires line, they also sell objects and trinkets from around the world, and beautiful jewelry. It will sure be difficult for you to walk away empty handed.
The shop has a minimalistic and sleek design with a little bit of whimsy (and you know I love a little whimsy). I love the exposed brick and the whitewash finish makes it modern and airy. The gals worked with Tacklebox architecture firm on the design of the store they did this shop good. This boutque is definitely worth a stop on your next shopping adventure. And you must stop in to say hi to the store mascot, Ivy.

NY Diary: Day Two

This was shopping day! My favorite day of all days no matter where I am. We started in Soho and made the usual stops, Uniqlo, Topshop, Pearl River Mart (love me some unnecessary chotchkies), etc. We then made our way over to Nolita and poked our heads in a few boutiques.

Barker Black

This is a man store. I might have missed this unassuming boutique, except that my BF is a closet shoe whore, so we popped in. Barker Black combines forgotten craftsmanship with modern design. Specialized craftsmen are at the heart of Barker Black and you can see that in every shoe. A pair will cost you a hefty penny, but I bet these babies will last you a lifetime.

Love, Adorned

This is a beautifully curated store. They carry art, tools, interior goodies and awesome jewelry. We walked away with some good smelling hippy incense.

The Quality Mending Co.

Great vintage selections at this shop. Some vintage boots, clothes and bags for women, mostly for men. They also have their own line of canvas bags: duffles, totes and a really cute bowling bag shape.

Maryam Nassir Zadeh

Womens clothing boutique carrying a unique assortment of lines, shooz and pretty amazing jewelry. I’m still kicking myself for not purchasing a Creatures of Comfort dress that was on sale!

We ended the day with a late dinner at Smith & Mills. To say this place is cozy is an understatment. It’s very, very small and you can see the chef in plain sight preparing your meal behind the bar right next to the bartender. We popped a squat at the bar instead of waiting for a table and our meal was delish. The smoked ricotta with honey app is nom nom city! The bathroom is worth a peek as well…it was an old elevator shaft repurposed as the restaurant’s wc. Good food, good vibes and a great example of what you can create with a small space. My only complaint is that every article of clothing I wore that night, including my hair, smelled like I was in a small restaurant with no ventilation. Oh well…

Target Treasures: John Derian

I haven’t posted a Target Treasures in quite a while, but have no fear, there is an awesome designer collaboration just around the corner. John Derian is returning with another home decor and accessories line this fall! Derian is a New York-based artist known for his artisan decoupage techniques and I’m sure you’ve seen his beautiful objects artfully placed on a coffee table in various home mags. The John Derian for Target collection blends his love of nature and appreciation of classic, vintage style with well-designed, purposeful products. It hits stores September 5!

Below is a preview of what to expect…and all items are under $25!

We’ve Moved

Not very far, but I do have a new space at the Vintage Collective. The new owner of the Collective is putting a lot of love into the store and has been movin’ things around so I have a new home there. My sissy has also put in a rack of some well curated vintage dresses into the space. Won’t you come and visit?!

The Vintage Collective

Move in day finally came and I wanted to share my excitement with you all! I moved my furniture and accessories into the Vintage Collective, a furniture and clothing consignment store in Long Beach, and I have to say I’m very happy with how my little booth turned out. My booth is a little under 100 sq. ft. and it’s just the perfect¬†size. I was able to fit a good amount of furniture into the space and I hope everything sells so that I can add new pieces into the mix! I still have my items listed in my etsy shop and will be adding more items soon, but please come and visit the store if you have a chance. This is an awesome vintage store and¬†I’m sure you will find a treasure to bring home with you.

Do you know by now I heart hearts?! This doesn’t really fit into my home color scheme but that doesn’t mean this rug shouldn’t brighten up someone else’s home! It’s at Pier 1…go buy it.
