Sneak Peek – Bedroom

I’ve had my fair share of install days and the excitement of seeing a project you’ve been working on for months, sometimes even years, come to life never gets old. I had a partial install yesterday and it came together just like I, and my client, had hoped. Remember that beachy and serene palette I started out with a few months ago? Well, this is how it’s looking so far. We’re still waiting for the window treatments, rug, artwork, and those special finishing touches, but the progress is spot on!

New Chair Coming Soon

Black and White Textiles

If you follow my instagram you would’ve seen this fabulous fabric I posted a while ago. I’m happy to announce it’s coming to a chair near you! Chair TBD for my nephew’s school auction has now been determined and I can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

Mend Hearts {Back to School}

Although I’m no longer in school, the beginning of September always makes me want to go out and buy new office supplies. Here are some of my picks…

Mend Hearts…

Summer is soon coming to an end, but being in this hot hot heat all week has reinspired me. And for all you folks living in SoCal, I don’t think summer truly ever ends so you can keep enjoying these goodies all year long.

On the Hunt

Mend Re-Loved Vintage Furniture Refurbished Chair

It’s that time of year again where I’m on the hunt for a chair that needs some major re-loving. The nephew’s school auction is soon approaching so I better get on it stat. Above was the chair we donated last year (sorry for the horrible pix), but it’s all I got, and I can’t even find the before photo. It was literally hot off the press delivered straight to the auction table. And you may remember this chair that got the Mend makeover the year before. It was a hit and I loved it so much, I had to make one for myself (which I am happily sitting in as we speak). Wish me luck!

Artfully Curated Tribeca Loft

Delivered to my doorstep yesterday was Harper’s Bazaar September issue, too thick to fit into my mail slot. It will take me a few days to devour the entire issue, but I just had to share the home of Vera Wang president Mario Grauso and Brood designer Serkan Sarier. This is what their home looked like after just a few days of moving in…

I’m drawn to the clean and minimalistic as much as the layered, which I guess makes me a true Gemini in every sense. This couple has mastered the art of layering and they have created a home of great antiquity. The jewel tones and deep hues of the furnishings give this loft a very warm and lived in feel.

Love the layering of the headboards followed by a screen in the bedrooms.

Grauso and Sarier have inspired me to get my act together and hunt for those remaining pieces I need for the apartment, which includes a desperately needed headboard!

So Fresh and So Clean Clean

My mail has been held captive for a week due to a broken garage door, but my patience was rewarded with a big stack of magazines, including the new MS Living Home Issue! One of the featured homes belonged to Martha’s daughter, Alexis, and it is a great display of soft minimalist.

Love the terrazzo floors throughout the home.

Oh, to one day have such an orderly kitchen…

Just sitting at this beautiful, vintage Italian vanity would probably make me look ten times better.

Red White Blue Living Room Interior Design Decor American Flag Art

I’m still obsessed with the Olympics and have gone through quite a few tissue boxes because when watching the games, just about everything makes me cry. I’ll be sad when the games are over, but I guess I could continue my country pride with some red, white and blue in my decor. According to House Beautiful’s “America’s Favorite Paint Color” survey, blue takes home the gold (harhar).

Mercer Island Home Designed by Kelly Wearstler

Oh Kelly…what can I say? I’ve been following the work of Kdub for the past seven years (since the very first day I officially started in design) and have enjoyed watching and been inspired by her metamorphosis of style. Her style and design of this Mercer Island, Washington home is decadent and eccentric, not exactly how I would describe my own personal style or preferences, but I definitely love seeing that stimulating decadence come through in her interiors.

Mint colored walls are the perfect backdrop for this custom, antiqued brass stairwell.

Kelly’s use of pattern mixed with luxe finishes and materials is perfection.

The onyx slabs used in this bathroom are out of this world. I want to give a big hug to the installer of these floors…I can just picture him delicately cutting and piecing each piece of marble together to form this amazing geometric pattern.
