Good Shepherd: Done and Done

I finished up my room at the Good Shepherd shelter yesterday and I am so glad to be done! It was a fun project and I am very happy with how the room turned out. I didn’t get to meet the woman that will be moving in, but I hope the space makes her feels happy and comfortable. Unfortunately, I won’t be revealing the photos of the room until later in July because the project managers are making some big PR pushes. I will leave you with some itty bitty sneak peeks. Thank you to all the the vendors, friends and family that donated their product, time or money. Couldn’t have done it without you all! You can also check out my interview about the project on the Good Shepherd project blog here.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

Hexagon City

This is the jumping off point for my room design at Good Shepherd Charity Design Project. Major score at an estate sale, I’m still pinching myself. That’s all you get for now as I lean into the frenzy of pulling this room together within a month. Stay tuned!

Designer’s Guild and Osborne & Little Spring 2011

I saw the new Designer’s Guild and Osborne & Little yesterday, and as usual, there were many fabrics and wallpapers that I fell in love with. Here’s a peek…just in time to spruce up your home for spring.

Designer’s Guild and Christian Lacroix teamed up for a special collection. Love the fashion to interior inspiration (and the orchestral version of Nirvana’s ‘Come As You Are’ on Lacroix’s website).

Happy Spring

Happy spring forward!! In celebration of spring, I’ll be sprucing up my sofa with some new pillows. It’s long overdue and adding new pillows is such an easy way to update your look. And my sofa deserves it after all we (including the crazy fur babies) have put her through!

The King’s Speech

Yay for Best Picture!! I only saw it about a week ago just in time for the Oscars and had to share how in love I was with the set design. There were so many gorgeous backdrops, it was hard to tear myself away from all the amazing wallpapers! I’ve long been a fan of wallpaper and am so surprised about how many people still think it’s so old fashioned. Think that no more folks! There are so many gorgeous papers out today and something for everyone. Lionel’s (Geoffrey Rush) apartment is the perfect example of how you can mix different patterns and not feel like you are living in a bad trip. Love love love!!!

Rodarte Inspiration

I have some mendables in the works and I was really inspired by the Rodarte spread in the latest issue of Vogue. I love how they mixed the cobalt/indigo prints with the chocolate-y browns and medium wood tones. The cobalt really brightens up the color scheme and the entire spread has an asian, tribal, organic, ethnic vibe that I’m really into.

I’m going to mix it up and throw in some mandarin…and it goes a little something like this…

Stay tuned…

Trina Turk New Indoor/Outdoor Fabrics

I’ve returned from NY and Trina Turk’s second collection of indoor/outdoor fabrics is the perfect transition back into sunny Cali weather. I love the graphic-ness of her vintage inspired prints…they always make me want to take a vacay. Here are just a few of my fave…

I am ecstatic that DwellStudio has done a collaboration with Robert Allen to bring us their Eclectic Modern collection of residential fabrics!

Here are just a few off the prints…

Now which ones will make their way into my house…

Just saw Designers Guild new fall fabrics and wallpapers and I love…

Sneak Peek

Just a little sneak peek of a client’s sofa…you can’t see it, but it has an awesome frame that wraps around the back of the sofa…yay! Going to look even more fab when we add some pillows on this bad boy.
