Ikat, pronounced ee-kaht (not eye-kat), has been on trend for some time now (it’s everywhere!), but can you really say it’s trendy when it’s so timeless and classic? It’s certainly not the first time I’ve posted about it…remember that amazing tile, or how about that showstopper sofa?! This exotic motif has had it’s place in the design world for hundreds of years with its ancient roots, but it’s looking fresher than ever. Whether in a retro, contemporary or traditional setting, ikat has a place almost anywhere.

Stool Crazy

Mend Footstools Upholstered Fabric Ottoman Bench

I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to footstools, ottomans, poufs, etc. because they’re usually just the cutest in size and they add pizazz to any room. Who doesn’t want a footstool to rest their tired feet after a long of work? And who couldn’t use some extra seating in their living room? Or maybe your pup needs a little extra help getting on the sofa or bed? My BFF uses hers to meditate and I use mine for all of the above.

Above are handmade footstools, made by yours truly, and I love them to pieces! Just added to them to the shop along with a few other goodies so I hope you’ll come take a look here. Happy Friday!

I’m kinda in love with this rug from Designers Guild. Blue and I went through a rough patch, but we’re now friends again and I am into it!

Sneak Peek – Dining Room

Leavin’ you guys with a little sneak peek of a dining room I recently installed. I shared my design a few weeks ago and even after countless projects and installs, I still get all giddy inside to see these spaces come into fruition. Have a great weekend!

Eclectic Mid-Century Modern Dining Room

Just wanted to share the design for a dining room I’m working on in an amazing Cliff May rancho home. The clients and I had originally started out with this paper, but this is where we’ve ended up and I couldn’t be happier. So excited to see this room come together!

Cole & Son Wallpaper

I’ve been wallpaper shopping for a client and wanted to give props to some of my favorite wallpapers from Cole & Son. I consider these the C&S archives since they have been in my wallpaper file for many many years. Which ones are your favorite?

Blue Leaf Channel Chair on Design*Sponge

Just wanted to share that Mend’s Blue Leaf Channel Chair is featured on Design*Sponge today! I love how this re-loved piece turned out. You can read a little more about my Before & After process on D*S. Enjoy!

Sanderson 50s Wallpaper

I have always thought the 50s and 60s was my missed era for living. Yes, I realize it was a time of major inequality, but let’s just keep all this in fantasy world, and only look at the design and style of that time. The architecture, furniture, and dress are all things that somehow always find their way into my design today and I’m so excited to be using this 50s inspired wallpaper by Sanderson in a new project. It’s the jumping off point for a dining room I’m working on and I can’t wait for you all to see it when it’s all done!

Peacock Rug

Peacock feathers, patterns and colors have been a trend for quite a while now, but I still love it! And I’m not sure I’ll ever get sick of teal and citron, alone or together. This Global Views rug has it all and you know I love me color and geometric prints. Now I just need to decide what project I’m going to try and use this rug in!

Serena & Lily Bedroom

I am loving the Summer Serena & Lily catalogue. If I ever rule the world, I will implement an extra day off to relax from your “day off” so we can all enjoy a little extra time in bed.
