Hearts

Red Heart Balloons

It’s almost V-day and it’s at the top of my list as one of my favorite holidays. The BF and I never celebrate it in the traditional sense (i.e. we refuse to be taken advantage of by this made up holiday), but I do indulge myself with putting hearts on whatever I can, eating as much candy and sweets as possible, and still giving out Valentines even though it’s been many, many years since I’ve been in grade school. What can I say, I really heart hearts day and I heart these heart balloons from this cutie patootie wedding. I hope you take the day to indulge a little!

Table Decor

BHLDN Table Decor

I love scheming up tabletops as much as I love designing a room and this table decor from BHLDN is too much for words. Wedding is on the brain because I got engaged this weekend (yippeee!) and the inspiration out there these days is beyond. I’m still enjoying being in this cloud of a moment, so I’m not at all ready to dive into all the details, but these photos are a pretty good place to start.

Treasure Island Music Festival

It was my first time attending Treasure Island Music Festival and it was the perfect way to spend the gorgeous weekend. I’ve been to a few different festivals, but this one was a little different, in a good way. There were only two stages and none of the sets overlapped, so you actually got to see every band, if you wanted. My usual festival going consists of rushing from stage to stage to catch a few songs from each band, but not this time. This festival felt like summer camp, with a DIY craft tent included, and bands just happened to be performing as well. Here’s my photo diary of this past weekend…

Alice Waters x ESY x Levi’s School Lunch

Finally getting around to posting pix from the the Alice Waters, Edible Schoolyard and Levi’s event. There was a great turn out for the luncheon that took place near Union Square on Maiden Lane. I was the event designer for the event and I was really happy with how the tabletops turned out, although the wind was not my friend that day. Still getting used to this SF weather…

Love is in the Air

I’m down in SoCal again for the weekend, but this time for something much more fun…a wedding! I love weddings and have even considered wedding crashing as a profession because I love them so much. Couples in love, dressing up, free food, drinks and dancing…what more can a closet romantic ask for?! Maybe this video from Paperback Weddings. I absolutely adore it. Just warning you, it may bring a tear or two to your eyes, but this is also coming from someone that cries every time (and I mean EVERY time) I watch The Notebook.

T-Party

Alice Waters, the queen of organic, local and sustainable lifestyle, will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Chez Panisse, a little ol’ restaurant in Berkeley, maybe you’ve heard of it? In honor of this occasion and to also raise money for her Edible Schoolyard project, a program that educates students on growing and cooking their own food, the chef has partnered with Levi’s on a limited-edition collection of t-shirts designed by Sofia Coppola, David Byrne, Dave Eggers and Maira Kalman.

The shirts will debut this Wednesday, August 24, at a lunch in San Francisco on Maiden Lane, just off Union Square. If you’re in the area please come support and have a yummy boxed lunch (and you can come say hi to me!).

Outside Lands

It was my first time attending Outside Lands in SF and I was excited to see how it compared to other music festivals like Coachella…it did not disappoint. Golden Gate Park was such an awesome setting. Nestled among all the trees, I listened to live music, while eating gourmet food and drinking a glass of pinot from a local winery…it doesn’t get much better than that. It did get pretty damn cold at night and I’ve yet to acquire appropriate evening gear, but all in all a very good time was had. Can’t wait for next year!

Of course, there is a compost bin along with trash and recycling. Gotta love SF!

Inside the wine tent.

I met the owner, Andrew, from this winery and I love his story and vibe. Love the identity and the wine is yummy! Check out Scribe when you get a chance.

Apartamento Magazine Alice Waters Article

Been busy working on an event coming up in a few weeks for Levi’s and Edible Schoolyard. Having had my own garden, I’ve realized how rewarding and awesome it is to grow and harvest your own food so Edible Schoolyard is a program I fully support. So excited to be a part of the team putting on this event and I can’t wait to meet Alice Waters!

Art In The Streets at MOCA

How was everyone’s weekend? I hope most of you were basking in the sun somwhere. I kicked off my weekend with the opening party for Art in the Streets at the Geffen Contemporary at Moca and it was a deeelightful night. Unfortunately, the BF and I showed up somewhat fashionably late, and not by choice, but because well, we tend to be late to things (and it’s usually not because of me ;p). We’re workin’ on it. So because of our tardiness, we rushed through the exhibit to take in as much as possible and it was a whirlwind of goodness with some celebrity sprinkled in.

Art in the Streets is the first U.S. museum exhibition of the history of graffiti and street art. The exhibition showcases installations by some of the most prominent artists from the graffiti and street art community. There is also emphasis on the photographers and filmmakers who documented graffiti and street art culture. It is the most visually stimulating history lesson I’ve ever experienced. If you live in or around LA, you must must go see this exhibit. I’m already planning my visit back.

Along with taking in all the art and bowing down to many of the Beautiful Losers all-stars, I couldn’t help but notice the celebs rubbing elbows all around me. If you didn’t already know, I love me a celeb sighting. Yes, I know they are all human beings just like us, but I’m a spaz/nerd and I can’t help but get excited. That’s pretty much the reason why I could never be with Ryan Gosling…I would pass out every time I saw him.

Although I spotted a few celebs, including Drew Barrymore, Joy Bryant, Jeremy Scott, to name a few, there were plenty that I didn’t see, including Gwen Stefani and her hubby! She’s my Anacrime sista from another mista and I would have loved to tap her on the shoulder to tell her how much I adore her. Others left unseen were Justin Timberlake, Lance Armstrong, Adrian Grenier, Jake Gyllenhall, Seth Rogan, and Christina Ricci. Oh well, I’m sure I saved myself some embarrasment. Celebrities aside, you need to go check out this exhibit!

Mr. & Mrs. Carter

Just wanted to take a moment to say congrats to my dear friends who tied the knot this weekend! The ceremony and reception were set at the Natural History Museum and it was the perfect backdrop. The reception was so them and it was beautifully done. I don’t think they could have done anything else to make it more perfect. Congrats you two!
